Hyperthyroidism and Tall Stature An increase in growth rate associated with advanced bone age is seen in hyperthyroid children and also in hypothyroidism overtreated with T4, The diagnosis is made by measuring the T4, triiodothyronine and TSH levels, and a thyroid-releasing hormone test should be carried out where doubt still exists.
